I GOT SERVED- iNTRO

A Blockbuster Podcast Series by Alfred Kojo Appiah: “I GOT SERVED”

Welcome to “I GOT SERVED,” a blockbuster podcast series that blends the power of storytelling with the soul of entrepreneurship. Written by Alfred Kojo Appiah, a seasoned journalist, business communicator, and master storyteller, this captivating narrative isn’t just fiction—it’s a pulse-check on real life, African resilience, and the daring pursuit of dreams.

In this six-chapter journey, listeners are invited into the world of Kojo Mensah, a young African man who walked into a humble fufu joint in Accra only to walk out with the seed of a million-dollar business idea—and perhaps, love. It’s not just about food. It’s about hunger: the hunger for purpose, freedom, impact, and change.

This story has been created not just to entertain but to empower. It’s an immersive dive into the mind and heart of an everyday dreamer who dares to do more with what he’s been served. And as you listen or read, you’ll see why this isn’t just Kojo’s story—it could be yours.

Why he wrote this story.

He said, As someone who has spent over a decade in journalism, storytelling, and business communication, I’ve seen one truth echo over and over: stories move people. They shape beliefs, fuel courage, and ignite action. “I GOT SERVED” was born out of that truth. And here are five reasons I chose to write it:

1. To Humanize the Entrepreneurial Journey

Entrepreneurship is often glamorized. We hear about the success stories but not the struggle, the sleepless nights, the tears behind closed doors. Kojo’s story is raw, real, and relatable. I wanted to show that business success isn’t just about pitch decks and funding rounds—it’s about people, purpose, and perseverance.

2. To Inspire Through Realistic Fiction

Too many stories create a fantasy that feels unreachable. I wrote this story to be possible. Every location, conversation, and decision reflects what real entrepreneurs in Africa face daily—resource scarcity, skepticism, family pressure, yet overwhelming drive. Fiction is powerful when it mirrors life.

3. To Celebrate African Ingenuity

There’s something special about the way Africans innovate under pressure. From roadside vendors to techpreneurs, our continent is full of brilliant minds crafting world-changing ideas from the ground up. “I GOT SERVED” celebrates that fire and proves that African problems have African solutions.

4. To Merge Love and Business Authentically

Entrepreneurship doesn’t happen in isolation. Relationships are tested, shaped, and sometimes built through the journey. Kojo and Ama’s love story isn’t an afterthought—it’s central. Because love, loyalty, and emotional intelligence are part of building sustainable business leadership.

5. To Equip the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs

With my background in business communication and storytelling, I understand the gaps many startups face—branding, clarity, emotional connection. This story is a tool for learning. Each chapter holds lessons on pitching, customer service, failure, growth, and how to rise when everything seems to fall apart.

“I GOT SERVED” is more than a story. It’s a strategy. It’s a mirror. It’s a mentor.

So whether you’re an aspiring entrepreneur, a startup founder finding your feet, or a curious soul trying to make sense of your purpose—this is your story too. Let it challenge you, comfort you, and most importantly, move you to act.

Let the journey begin. 🎙️
